Active Refrigeration are pleased to be announced a winner in the 2017 Champion Canterbury Business Awards in the Infrastructure/Trades category. Our entry show cased Active Refrigeration’s contribution towards Canterbury’s growth, our commitment to the environment and our innovative projects we have delivered to help grow and support our client’s complex operations.
2017 DELOITTE ENERGY EXCELLENCE AWARDS WINNER
Active Refrigeration was awarded the winner for the Health and Safety Initiative of the year category. Active took out some tough competition from other finalists in the group, including Vector and Transpower which both showcased some great entries. Active Refrigeration demonstrates a Health and Safety system which has been created to deliver a simplistic approach while still being compliant and engaging.This safety award is a true reflection of Active Refrigeration’s workers and officers continued commitment to safety.
2016 EECA AWARDS WINNER
The EECA Award is an award given out for excellence and innovation in energy efficiency or renewable energy within New Zealand businesses. Active Refrigeration gained this award from its partnership with Hellers where they used waste heat to produce hot water. Hellers has reduced greenhouse gas emissions by 91% and is saving $148,000 a year on energy.

2014 SUSTAINABLE 60 AWARDS WINNER
The annual Sustainable 60 Awards recognise sustainable business excellence in New Zealand. The Awards provide an opportunity for companies to showcase and be recognised for their commitment to sustainable business, share best practice - and celebrate success. Active Refrigeration won the marketplace category award, from using an innovative manufacturing processes that requires cooling and heating of liquid substances at the same time. Our heat pump technology replaces the need for separate refrigeration and boiling units and uses natural refrigerants such as ammonia.
